This is sort of similar to the post about Point Lobos with one clear difference. I was fully aware of what I was doing here. In 1995 I set out with my wife and newborn girl to explore the Gaspé Peninsula. It was late April. The plan was to drive around the peninsula from west to east along the northern route. Part of the inspiration for this trip was the photographs taken by Paul Strand in the late twenties of this area. Around the fourth day we were driving up a hill and I saw this view. I was so excited I slammed on the brakes. It startled my passengers. I knew the photograph from Strand and I had to get out and retake it. Strand took his photograph in 1929. It is fun to see the changes that happened over the intervening sixty-eight years.
